The next IMEX America trade show, taking place Oct. 14-16 in Las Vegas, will feature the Professional Convention Management Association's (PCMA) popular "PCMA Business School" curriculum, organizer the IMEX Group announced today.
Introduced last year at PCMA's "Convening Leaders" annual meeting, PCMA Business School features speakers from the nation's top business schools, who teach meeting planners the business acumen they need to participate in senior-level business discussions. The curriculum now includes online courses as well as live courses at industry conferences like IMEX America, which will host a three-hour session taught by Dr. Jerry Jellison, a professor of social psychology at the University of Southern California. Taking place immediately prior to IMEX America, as part of "Smart Monday" on Oct. 13, his workshop will focus on change management.
"We're always looking for innovative ways to make our education program at IMEX America even more meaningful and rich," IMEX Group CEO Carina Bauer said in a statement. "PCMA's Business School approach is a terrific way to connect our industry directly with the best minds in the U.S. college and university community and we're looking forward to it becoming a unique part of this year's Smart Monday program."
Added PCMA COO Sherrif Karamat, "PCMA's education is renowned for challenging our thinking and the status quo. We're committed to equipping our meeting professionals with the best resources and tools possible by bringing some of the country's brightest minds to share their knowledge, and we're excited to launch our first business school program at IMEX America this fall."
PCMA Business School at IMEX America is limited to 120 attendees, each of who will receive 0.3 continuing education credits for their participation. For more information, visit www.imexamerica.com.
