The complete lineup of education sessions for the upcoming IMEX America trade show has been posted online, organizer the IMEX Group announced today.
Taking place Oct. 12-15 in Las Vegas, this year's program will feature upwards of 180 education choices across 10 specialty tracks: Business Skills, Creative Learning, Diversity, General Education, Health/Wellbeing, Marketing and Communications, Research/Trends, Risk Management/Compliance, Sustainability, and Technology/Social Media. Over 75 percent of the sessions will qualify for continuing education credits for meeting professionals seeking their Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) credential.
Although education sessions are open to all attendees, those planning an education itinerary on the IMEX America website can search sessions using two new filters based on their industry experience: They can do a "Young Professionals" search sponsored by the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) or a "Senior Professionals" search sponsored by the Senior Planners Industry Network (SPIN).
Also new this year is "The Play Room," which will feature short "quirkshops" on Smart Monday -- a day of education the Monday prior to the event, sponsored by Meeting Professionals International (MPI). Sponsored by Play with a Purpose, it will give attendees a unique alternative to classroom learning by giving attendees tangible, hands-on experience with topics such as room design, technology, networking, teambuilding, and food and beverage.
Finally, the IMEX Group also announced this year's keynote speakers: Smart Monday will be headlined by wellness expert Lee Papa discussing "How to Live and Lead Mindfully." Tuesdays keynote, meanwhile, will be author, speaker, and former magician be Tim David, who will present a speech titled "Human Connection: A Lost Art in a Noisy World." Wednesday's program will begin with a keynote from film director Josh Tickell taking the audience through "Managing and Marketing to the Future Generation Y," and on the final day of the show Patrick Henry, former songwriter and author of "The Pancake Principle: Seventeen Sticky Ways To Make Your Customers FLIP For You," will teach skills around "Becoming Remember-able."
