The trend toward "experiential" meetings is hot. And if the 7th annual edition of the IMEX America trade show is any indication, it's only getting hotter.
Indeed, this year's IMEX America will seek to raise the show's "experiential power," according to organizer the IMEX Group. In addition to more than 3,000 exhibitors -- including more than 44 expanded booths and nearly 50 entirely new ones -- it announced last week that the event will feature:
• Inflatable domes that will be used for seminars and workshops at the Maritz-sponsored Inspiration Hubs, where they'll give attendees a sense for potential meeting rooms of the future;
• The Live Zone, an area devoted to creativity that will include LEGO furniture, games, and sample performances by experiential artists who are available to perform at meetings, all designed to inspire meeting planners to use more dynamic, interactive experiences at their events; and
• A keynote speech by Brent Bushnell, CEO of Two Bit Circus, whose Thursday morning speech will focus on the power interactive experiences and immersive entertainment.
IMEX America takes place Oct. 10-12 at the Sands Expo and Convention Center at The Venetian and The Palazzo in Las Vegas. For more information, visit www.imexamerica.com.
