The International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) has recognized Tom Hulton, director of international relations for the IMEX Group, with its highest honor, the Moises Shuster Award, the IMEX Group reported this week.
Hulton, who formerly was CEO of ICCA, was presented with the award at the 50th ICCA Congress Gala Dinner in Leipzig, Germany, on Oct. 25. In his role at the IMEX Group, he has been instrumental in developing the IMEX-MPI Future Leaders program and in raising the profile and impact of the IMEX Politicians Forum, which IMEX describes as "part of the trade show's long-term effort to effect better communication and recognition of industry issues at local, regional and national government levels all over the world."
"What a fantastic surprise and honor this award has been," Hulton said at the gala dinner. "I would like to dedicate it to all my wonderful friends and colleagues around the world who together make this industry so special."
Added IMEX Group Chairman Ray Bloom, "Everyone who meets or knows Tom will be aware just what an asset he has been to IMEX in recent years. His persistence, diplomacy, skill, knowledge and contacts have allowed us to expand the Future Leaders program further than we ever imagined and, most importantly, to develop the Politicians Forum with the appropriate level of authority and care."
Named after one of ICCA's founding fathers and past presidents, the Moises Shuster Award recognizes outstanding service in the international meetings industry. For more information, visit www.iccaworld.com.
