Next year's IBTM America will take place for the first time in Nashville, at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center (pictured), organizer Reed Travel Exhibitions (RTE) announced today. When the annual event debuted in 2011, it was held in Baltimore. In 2013 it left for Chicago and Orlando, planning to rotate between the two cities. The move to Nashville therefore represents a new chapter for the event.
"As part of our strategy to experience the most dynamic business destinations, we are delighted to be ... taking IBTM to Nashville," said IBTM America Event Director Jaime McAuley.
Formerly known as AIBTM, IBTM America was renamed in June 2014, at which point Reed also announced a new format for the show: Formerly a large-scale trade show, the show now is more intimate. Beginning with this year's event, currently underway in Chicago, it consists of 250 suppliers who meet one-on-one with the same number of meeting planners in the privacy of a unique "meeting pod" designed solely for the purpose of hosting hosted-buyer appointments.
IBTM America 2016 will take place in Nashville June 15-17, 2016.
