The 2016 edition of IBTM America, taking place June 15-17 in Nashville, is promising hosted buyers and suppliers "100 percent mutual match" business appointments, organizer Reed Travel Exhibitions (RTE) announced yesterday.
"With some 5,200 appointments that took place during IBTM America 2015, we are aware of the need to perfect the system even further and have been working on helping our attendees eliminate non-relevant meetings," said IBTM America Event Director Jaime McAuley. "As a result we are now able to deliver a 100 percent mutual match, which we believe is the first event of its kind in the U.S."
Here's how it works: First, exhibitors will have the opportunity to review hosted buyer profiles and select buyers with whom they'd like to meet. Next, hosted buyers will which exhibitors requested to meet with them, at which point they can then accept or reject the meeting. Finally, exhibitors and buyers who have a "mutual match" can arrange an appointment during the show.
Continued McAuley, "This is a unique method of ensuring that both parties at IBTM America have control of their time and investment at the event, knowing they have back-to-back appointments that are totally at their own request, matching their business objectives."
