Its 2014 Expo! Expo! Annual Meeting & Exhibition attracted 2,225 attendees, an increase of 15 percent from 2013, the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) announced yesterday, reporting the results of its official show audit.
The meeting, which took place Dec. 9-11 in Los Angeles, also saw double the number of attendees from outside North America, up from 39 in 2013 to 85 in 2014; a 51.7 percent increase in first-time attendees, up from 348 in 2013 to 528 in 2014; and a 10.6 percent increase in representation from senior executives, up from 273 in 2013 to 302 in 2014.
"We are extremely pleased with the outcome of Expo! Expo! IAEE's Annual Meeting & Exhibition 2014 in Los Angeles, especially with the increases to our international and first-time attendance," IAEE President and CEO David DuBois said in a statement. "As part of our ongoing strategic plan, we have focused on advocacy and education on an international level and these numbers reflect that. An increase in first-time attendees is a sign of a strong organization and a robust overall industry."
IAEE's next Expo! Expo! Annual Meeting & Exhibition takes place Dec. 1-3, 2015, in Baltimore.
