The International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) has released an update to its "Guidelines for Display Rules & Regulations," it announced yesterday. The guidelines, which exhibition organizers use to establish fair exhibiting standards for their events, are intended to promote "continuity and consistency" across North American trade shows.
According to IAEE, the guidelines' 2014 edition addresses compliance with fire, safety, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and other state, federal, or provincial government requirements, and offer further clarification in the following areas:
• End-cap Booths
• Multi-story Booths
• Peninsula Booths
• Hanging Signs and Graphics
• Structural Integrity
• Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
• Electrical and Lighting Issues
• Demonstrations
• Full Cubic Content
• Vehicles
"Periodically, IAEE organizes a task force of its members to review, discuss, and update the existing 'Guidelines for Display Rules & Regulations,' which exhibition organizers and their exhibitors use in producing their events," IAEE Guidelines for Display Rules and Regulations Task Force Chairperson Tom Corcoran said in a statement. "It had been three years since the last review of these guidelines. In this edition, the changes consist of minor tweaks and some additional information to help the reader, as well as updating several graphics."
