Michelle Metter, co-owner of Fast Forward Event Productions, a San Diego-based event production and marketing agency, has been named the 2012 chair of its Public Events Council, the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) announced last week.
Metter replaces Paul Schweitzer, vice president of business development for Marketplace Events, who served as the council's chair for four years, from 2008 until 2011. Honored for his service at IAEE's Expo! Expo! annual meeting in December, Schweitzer helped IAEE develop several resources for public event organizers, including education programming at IAEE's Mid-Year Meeting, an annual "Public Events Industry Survey and Report," and a "Top Public Event" recognition program.
"Schweitzer's dedication and leadership were invaluable in reinforcing the importance of public and consumer events throughout the industry," said IAEE President Steven Hacker. "We look forward to continuing the good work with 2012 Chair Michelle Metter."
