The International Association of Conference Centers (IACC) Americas has elected several new directors to its 20-member board, it announced yesterday.
Serving a two-year term from Jan. 1, 2012, through Dec. 31, 2013, the new directors are Patti Culwell, director of sales, conference services and catering operations at La Torretta Lake Resort & Spa in Montgomery, Texas, and Lauren Kean, conference center sales manager at the Executive Conference and Training Center at Dulles in Dulles, Va.
In addition, Daniel Techman, director of sales and marketing at the Doubletree Suites by Hilton Hotel & Conference Center Chicago-Downers Grove in Downers Grove, Ill., was re-elected to the board.
Finally, David Haas, regional sales and product manager at Northern Illinois University's NIU Conference Centers in Naperville, Ill., has joined the board for a 15-month term as a board associate, a non-voting role through which he'll identify emerging trends while advising the IACC board from the perspective of a Millennial.
"The election of these hospitality experts brings a wide range of skills and experience to the board of directors at a critical time when IACC is moving forward with dynamic initiatives that assist members in providing exceptional meeting experiences," said IACC Americas President Peter Stockmann.
