In support of its
new mission and vision statements, which were introduced last month and shift its organizational focus from facilities to thought leadership, the International Association of Conference Centers (IACC) has elected three new executive officers of its board of directors, it announced last week.
Serving extended two-year terms, the officers will help IACC establish itself in new countries and regions not currently represented in the organization, including the Middle East and Eastern Europe.
The newly elected board officers are:
• Peter Stewart, Director of Operations, the Macquarie Graduate School of Management, Macquarie University (Australia): Elected president, Stewart has been active with IACC for 15 years and has served as president of the Australia chapter.
• Jeu Bressers, Owner/General Manager, Conference Centre Kapellerput (The Netherlands): Elected vice president, Bressers is a longtime veteran of the hospitality and meetings industry. Founder and co-owner of conference-hotel Kapellerput, he specializes in mid-size business meetings and was elected president of the IACC European Chapter in 2010.
• Peter Stockmann, CEO, 3p Business Solutions (United States): Elected secretary/treasurer, Stockman heads a consulting firm that advances ideal learning and meeting experiences and develops new and effective ways of doing business. He joined IACC in 1995 was elected in 2002 to the Americas' board of directors, of which he currently serves as president.
