Meeting planning firm GMI will retain its brand and leadership in the wake of the sale

Travel management services and technology firm ABC Global Services announced on Aug. 9 that it has acquired Boca Raton, Fla.-based Global Meetings and Incentives (GMI), a full-service provider of meeting logistics, content management, sourcing, convention management and incentives.

 GMI will retain its brand and continue under the leadership of Eli Sananes as president, as well as its Boca Raton headquarters and regional offices in Canada and Europe.

 "ABC's growth in the meeting and incentive segment is a continuation of our commitment to provide additional strategic services to our clients as wee as our hotel partners globally," said Eric Altschul, CEO of ABC Global Services (pictured), in a release. ABC and GMI share the same core values of surpassing customer expectations, making this union a great fit."

 The combined firm will provide clients with greater experience, leveraged purchasing power, innovation, creativity and infrastructure, the company said. 

 "For over 10 years the GMI team has worked hard to create a one-of-a-kind brand and unparalleled levels of service that our industry and customers demand," said Sananes. "I feel Eric and his team share our vision and I am thrilled to start this new chapter with ABC."
