Event marketing and production company Freeman has named Chris Cavanaugh its new chief marketing officer, it announced yesterday.
Cavanaugh previously served as executive vice president of brand strategy and business insights for FreemanXP, a boutique experiential marketing agency within Freeman. Prior to that he spent 16 years at event marketing agency Jack Morton Worldwide, where he was named to the company's executive committee and eventually became the chief growth officer working on organic and new business growth and development across the global firm.

Experiential marketing is becoming a more significant part of the marketing mix in response," Freeman CEO Joe Popolo said in a statement. "This transformation requires a visionary leader -- someone with big ideas and the strategic leadership skills to shape this change. Chris has all of those and a deep understanding and a passion for experience marketing. We are delighted to have him in the lead marketing role for Freeman."
As CMO, Cavanaugh will lead Freeman's global brand marketing and communications strategy. He will report to Freeman President Bob Priest-Heck.
