Reed Travel Exhibitions' European Incentive Business Travel and Meetings (EIBTM) exposition has become a gold-level sponsor of "Project Meeting Architecture," a consortium of meeting professionals seeking to enhance the overall effectiveness of meetings with "meeting architecture," a discipline that's focused on "designing and implementing the content of meetings based on objectives and measuring the outcome," Reed Travel Exhibitions recently announced.
EIBTM's sponsorship will provide seed funding to help establish Project Meeting Architecture, which will hold its first annual board meeting at EIBTM and contribute for the third consecutive year to EIBTM's education program.
"Meeting architecture is best described as the task of designing the content and format of meetings in order to achieve the desired participant behavior/response and thereby enhancing ROI," said EIBTM Event Director Graeme Barnett. "By supporting the Meeting Architecture 2011 Project, we will see what is an extremely well thought out concept become a practical and very valuable working tool, for both academia and industry alike."
Founded by a committee of European and American meeting professionals, Project Meeting Architecture will "research, shape or create, and promote educational components that will advance the education options for future meeting architects," according to EIBTM, which said the term "meeting architecture" was first used in the 2008 book Meeting Architecture, a Manifesto, which then became The Meeting Architecture Manifesto through a collaborative effort by 40 meetings industry opinion leaders in Europe and the United States.
