Deepak Chopra to Headline MPI's 2014 World Education Congress

Deepak Chopra Keynote

Spiritual guru and best-selling author Deepak Chopra will headline its 2014 World Education Congress (WEC), taking place Aug. 2-5 in Minneapolis, Meeting Professionals International (MPI) announced last week. A licensed physician, Chopra will focus his keynote address on the importance of healthy indoor environments — what he calls “wellness real estate” — including salubrious homes, offices and meeting spaces.

Following Chopra’s opening keynote, WEC attendees will be able to choose from more than 70 concurrent education sessions, according to MPI, which recently revealed details online about the meeting’s program. Highlights include two flash point-style general sessions featuring rapid-fire presentations from numerous speakers — including sales intelligence and reputation management expert Sam Richter and Chris Heeter, founder of The Wild Institute — and two new components: CSR Central and Tech Café.

CSR Central will be a dedicated zone where attendees can volunteer with local community organizations on Aug. 4 — for a few minutes, a few hours or all day. Tech Café, meanwhile, will showcase new technology solutions and give attendees the chance to experience them firsthand.

“At MPI, we are continually making discoveries about our members, their needs and concerns, and what will make them successful in order to strengthen our association and our membership experience,” MPI President and CEO Paul Van Deventer said in a statement. “With WEC 2014, our goal is to help attendees discover their own strategic potential, the right business partnerships, and ways to transform and elevate their approach to planning meetings and events.”
