The cruise industry's chief trade group, Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), has announced the transition plan for replacing President and CEO Christine Duffy, who will resign her position effective Jan. 31 in order to become president of Carnival Cruise Line.
According to CLIA, executive search firm Heidrick & Struggles will commence a search for Duffy's replacement on the organization's behalf. In the interim, the organization's newly appointed global chairman, Royal Caribbean President and COO Adam Goldstein, will serve as its chief spokesperson while Cindy D'Aoust, CLIA's executive vice president of membership and operations, will serve as its chief staff executive in charge of daily operations.
"We are dedicated to identifying a leader who will continue to drive the vision of the organization," Goldstein said in a statement. "During this search and transition process, we are well-positioned to continue to support our membership and the many activities we have underway around the world with the leadership of our talented executive team."
