In order to advance the meetings industry, and mobilize it around causes and issues that impact it, the Convention Industry Council (CIC) has partnered with advocacy consultancy Voices in Advocacy to launch a new online tool that will “engage, educate and activate” meeting professionals, it announced today.
Called the Meetings Industry Advocacy Hub, the new tool will function as an “online on-call resource,” according to CIC, which plans to use it to send regular updates educating industry advocates on issues, alerts, positions and messaging important to meetings-industry causes and concerns. Additionally, CIC says, it will use the Hub — which it describes as a “supersized database of the meetings industry supporters” — to issue calls-to-action as new issues arise.
“We must join together in a collective effort to speak out and be heard about the value of live face-to-face meetings,” Roger Rickard, founder of Voices in Advocacy, said in a statement. “This tool provides the industry that vehicle.”
