The sports and entertainment business of Comcast Corp., Comcast Spectacor, has consolidated its three divisions -- Global Spectrum, Ovations Food Services, and Paciolan -- into a new, singular brand called Spectra, it announced this week.
The combined brand will serve trade show, concert, and sporting event clients as a single business in order to optimize its performance through bundled services. It will have three divisions: venue management (formerly Global Spectrum), Food Services & Hospitality (formerly Ovations Food Services), and Ticketing & Fan Engagement (formerly Paciolan).
"Spectra is all about creating unforgettable moments for fans," said Dave Scott, president of Comcast Spectacor. "We can do that best with all services under one umbrella to provide end-to-end solutions for venues, redefining fan experiences everywhere."
Clients like the Palm Beach Convention Center, which is operated by Spectra Venue Management and supplied by Spectra Food Services & Hospitality, inspired the change, according to Scott, who said other clients, like the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines, have seen increased revenues, events, and F&B sales as a result of being serviced by all three Spectra divisions.
"The success that clients like these are experiencing with multiple services at one location is what inspired us to move from a house of brands to a branded house as Spectra," he continued. "It gives clients a more integrated, streamlined, and powerful resource to host extraordinary events."
