Centerplate, which provides food and beverage services nationwide at convention centers, arenas and stadiums, held its 2012 Annual Meeting last week in Vancouver, Canada, it announced this week. According to the company, the theme of the meeting, "Step Ahead," reflected its commitment to client success in 2012.
"All of the firm's general managers were encouraged to leverage Centerplate's unique position and strategic approach to hospitality to take their clients' brands and businesses to new heights in 2012," Centerplate said in a statement.
Guest speakers at the annual meeting included AG Spanos, executive vice president of the San Diego Chargers; David Harr, associate vice president of the University of Notre Dame; Peggy Daidakis, executive director of the Baltimore Convention Center; and Ken Cretney, general manager of the Vancouver Convention Centre, among others.
In addition to hearing from guest speakers, Centerplate employees celebrated several company milestones achieved during 2011, including record-breaking double-digit sales increases; a perfect 100 percent contract renewal rate; and Centerplate's most recent new partnership agreements with Notre Dame University, the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center and the New Santa Clara Stadium, future home of the San Francisco 49ers.
"The company also reviewed its service success for over 45,000 events in 2011, including the Grey Cup, the Championship of Canadian Football; 11 college bowl games; the Belmont Stakes; and Art Basel Miami Beach — all of which reinforced Centerplate's position as the largest and most dynamic premium event hospitality company in North America," the company said.
