San Diego Some 600 local and national hospitality-industry members, business and civic leaders, and city officials will gather to fete Reint Reinders, who retired on June 5 as the president and CEO of the San Diego Convention & Visitors Bureau.
The event will take place Wednesday, at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego, to celebrate Reinders’ long career and accomplishments.
Reinders led the San Diego bureau for 15 years and was instrumental in transforming the city into one of the country’s top meeting destinations.
He is succeeded by David Peckinpaugh, formerly chief marketing officer for Conferon Global Services. Peckinpaugh has a history with San Diego, having served at two hotels in the region. He himself has been replaced by Rick Binford at Conferon.
