In memory of former colleague Dennis Hale, who died from ALS in 2013, CORT Trade Show & Event Furnishings has completed a large-scale ice bucket challenge that raised $2,500 for ALS research through the ALS Association, it announced today.
Conducted on Sept. 12 at the company's Las Vegas location, the challenge was taken simultaneously by 60 CORT employees, who doused themselves with ice while sitting on CORT's Blofied line of rental furniture for trade shows and events.
"With our CORT family so personally impacted by the loss of our colleague to ALS, we wanted to do our part to raise awareness and funds for this awful disease," Damon Ross, group vice president for CORT Trade Show and Event Furnishings, said in a statement. "We are thrilled by how many people joined us in the ice bucket challenge to honor Dennis's memory and to fight ALS."
