CEIR Announces Second Annual 'Predict' Conference

The Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR) will hold its second annual "Predict" industry outlook conference on Sept. 13, 2012, in New York City, it announced this month.

Launched last year, Predict is a by-invitation-only event for C-level executives that focuses on the CEIR Index, which measures year-over-year changes in four exhibition industry metrics—including net square feet of exhibit space sold, revenue, number of exhibiting companies and professional attendance—and 14 industry sectors. According to CEIR, the one-day program will unveil key economic indicators for the exhibition industry, and will discuss the impact on organizations that produce exhibitions for the next three years.

"Building on the success of last year's event, Predict 2012 attendees will immerse themselves in a real-time, interactive experience and actively participate in the industry's key predictive event," said CEIR President and CEO Doug Ducate. "Based on the responses both during and after the event, the content and speakers are being tailored to meet the essential needs of our attendees."

Attendance at Predict will be limited to no more than 140 participants — smaller than last year's 200 — including exhibition industry executive decision makers, merger and acquisition firms, private equity firms, debt providers, investment firms and the financial press.

So far, confirmed speakers include:

• Frank Anton, President, Hanley-Wood Inc.
• William Carteaux, President & CEO, Society of the Plastics Industry
• Chris Kersting, President and CEO, SEMA
• Joe Loggia, President & CEO, Advanstar Communications
