BCD Travel Merges Meeting Planning Units

Chicago -- The giant corporate travel agency, BCD Travel, has merged its three meetings-management units into a single global operation under the name, BCD Meetings & Incentives.

Best-known among the three to U.S.-based planners is WorldTravel Meetings & Incentives, which focuses on North American-based meetings. The other two are European-focused TQ3 Events and U.K.-based Talking Point.

Scott Graf, who served as president of WorldTravel Meetings & Incentives before its parent, WorldTravel BTI, merged into BCD Holdings, will lead the new company, with the title of global president.

"As we combine the skills of three very successful companies, our depth of service and talent will make us well positioned to meet the demands of a growing global business environment," Graf said Tuesday in announcing BCD Meetings & Incentives.

"We will be an organization that acts globally, aligns regionally and--most importantly--services locally," Graf added.

The company's immediate initiatives include adopting a single technology platform and integrating Talking Point's event production services into the North American and European markets.

BCD Meetings & Incentives has about 500 employees, with a presence in 13 countries through wholly owned entities and eight countries through partnerships. Its world headquarters is in Chicago, with regional hubs in San Francisco, Mexico City, London, Brussels, and Singapore.

BCD Travel operates in 96 countries with more than 12,000 people and generates $12 billion annually in sales.
