Keynote Speaker Marilyn Sherman has been motivating audiences to get out of their comfort zone for more than 25 years. "Top performers never settle for balcony seats," she says. "I stress the importance of living your life in the front row. Many get so comfortable with general admission, they don't realize they can move up."
Sherman notes that true leaders help others make it to the front - and that goes for leaders in all walks of life. This month alone she addressed attendees at conferences for associations in the petroleum, water quality and fitness fields. "Regardless of the industry, my message resonates with all," she says. "I speak to the heart and mind of each individual in the audience."
The inspiration to be a speaker was ignited in Sherman in high school at age 17, when motivational keynoter Roger Crawford addressed the student body. "At that moment, I made the decision that is what I want to do for the rest of my life. I am living the dream I was born to do," Sherman says.
Upon graduating from Washington State University, Sherman sought develop a corporate perspective and worked as a training officer in human resources at Chrysler First Financial Services, as well as a crisis counselor for a suicide hotline. She then hit the stage as a full-time motivational speaker.
Today, she is hired by corporations and associations that want their employees and/or members to improve their morale, teamwork and communication skills. With her engaging and fun personality, Sherman connects with audiences quickly and delivers content that they can immediately use when they get back to their office. Her accolades include recently being inducted into the Speaker Hall of Fame of the National Speaker Association's Council of Peers Award for Excellence, one of only 182 people in the world who hold this honor.
Sherman now lives in Las Vegas, a fertile ground with all the many groups that meet there, but she delivers her motivating messages for audiences across the country. She also hosts an annual leadership retreat in Paris with her French husband, Yves de Boisredon, and is the author of Is There a Hole in Your Bucket List?, Whose Comfort Zone Are You In?, Why Settle for the Balcony: How to Get a Front-Row Seat in Life and Front-Row Service.
