To many, actor and travel writer Andrew McCarthy is still best known as a member of the 1980s "Brat Pack." But McCarthy -- who has starred in such iconic films as Pretty in Pink and Weekend At Bernie's -- has another credit to his name you might not know about: motivational speaker.

McCarthy delights groups with anecdotes from his acting, directing, and travel writing careers. He shares with groups his personal journey and how travel and self-reflection changed his life, emphasizing the importance of finding passion and pushing boundaries.

Aside from his work on the screen, McCarthy has been editor-at-large at National Geographic Traveler, written for The Wall Street Journal, The Los Angeles Times, The Atlantic, and others, and penned a New York Times bestseller, the memoir The Longest Way Home.

McCarthy returned to acting with ABC's 2016 hit The Family. His directing credits include The Blacklist, Orange Is the New Black, and Gossip Girl.

McCarthy can be booked with the help of the Goodman Speakers Bureau. For more information, email [email protected] or go to Goodman's website.
