Groups meeting in Latin America will soon have more options to get there, according to American Airlines, which yesterday announced plans to introduce service to four new destinations in the region.
Starting next winter, the airline will commence flights to three new cities in South America -- Georgetown, Guyana; Pereira, Colombia; and Cordoba, Argentina -- and one new city in Mexico: Oaxaca. Additionally, it's launching service to Buenos Aires, Argentina, from Los Angeles International Airport, making American the first and only airline to offer nonstop service between Buenos Aires and Los Angeles.
"We're creating a world-class customer experience and as the largest U.S. carrier in Mexico and South America, we are committed to offering more choices with the best schedules for our customers in the region," said American Airlines Vice President of Network and Schedule Planning Vasu Raja. "As we look to strengthen our network, we're excited to add more nonstop flights to places like Buenos Aires, maximizing connections across our network."
Flights from Los Angeles to Buenos Aires will commence on Dec. 19, 2018, as will flights from Dallas to Oaxaca, Miami to Guyana, and Miami to Pereira. Flights to Cordoba will begin from Miami starting on April 2, 2019.
Beginning July 5, American also will launch service to Mexico City from Philadelphia.
With these new additions, American Airlines will now offer up to 270 flights to Latin America per day.
