ASAE's New Initiatives

The American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) is undertaking a new research initiative, ASAE ForesightWorks, which will examine trends impacting associations and provide tools and resources to help organizations understand their implications and integrate key aspects into their work. 

ASAE is also launching a new platform, ASAE Insurance Source, which will help associations manage their operational and governance risks. All of the products offered through the ASAE Insurance Source have been tailored to include coverage provisions, features, and benefits that reflect and serve associations' unique property and casualty insurance and risk management needs.

"ASAE continues to push the envelope on learning and meeting innovation, strategically developing new products and services that benefit our members and the association industry, and raising the visibility for how associations impact their communities," says ASAE Chair Scott D. Wiley, FASAE, CAE, President and CEO of The Ohio Society of CPAs.

A new project in early 2018 is a pilot Innovation Lab, in collaboration with ASAE corporate partner Visit Salt Lake. It will be a two-day event in Salt Lake City in conjunction with the Sundance Film Festival. Three associations will bring teams of up to six people each to work on a challenge using design thinking techniques. The groups will generate and evaluate potential solutions and leave with a prototype.

From an advocacy perspective, ASAE's team has done a tremendous job of educating policymakers on tax reform, state discriminatory legislation, travel issues, the overtime rule, and more," says Matthew R.
