ASAE Launches Risk Management Platform

ASAE - 1

The American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) has announced the launch of several new initiatives aimed at helping its members to better understand and meet the demands of their organizations. Among the offerings, announced at the ASAE Annual Meeting & Exposition, held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, is a new research initiative, ASAE ForesightWorks, which will examine trends impacting associations and provide tools and resources to help organizations understand the implications as well as integrate key aspects into their work.

The organization is also launching a new platform, called ASAE Insurance Source, which will help associations manage their operational and governance risks. The ASAE Foundation has new organizational assessments that will provide associations the opportunity to look at their global maturity and technology readiness within AssociaMetrics, a platform that provides industry benchmarking data for ASAE members.

"ASAE continues to push the envelope on learning and meeting innovation, strategically developing new products and services that benefit our members and the association industry, and raising the visibility for how associations impact their communities," said ASAE Chair Scott D. Wiley, FASAE, CAE, President and CEO of The Ohio Society of CPAs.

A new projects in early 2018 is a pilot Innovation Lab, in collaboration with ASAE corporate partner Visit Salt Lake. It will be a two-day event in Salt Lake City, in conjunction with the Sundance Film Festival. Three associations will bring teams of up to six people each to work on a challenge using design thinking techniques. The groups will generate and evaluate potential solutions and leave with a prototype.

"The ASAE Foundation research agenda continues to be robust and examine important trends effecting our community. From an advocacy perspective, ASAE's team has done a tremendous job of educating policymakers on tax reform, state discriminatory legislation, travel issues, the overtime rule, and more," said Matthew R. Shay, CAE, president and CEO at the National Retail Federation and incoming chair of the ASAE Board.
