The American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) has debuted a new website, Association Career HQ, to provide career and talent management resources for professionals who lead, manage, and work in associations. The new website was announced Monday at ASAE's annual meeting and exposition in Detroit by ASAE President and CEO John H. Graham.
Job seekers can find and employers can post jobs on Association Career HQ, but the new website is more than just a job board. The "jobs plus" section of the website features career-help content for association professionals at all levels, and the new website includes tips and tools, an industry expert blog, association-specific models and samples, salary information, career videos, and ASAE's new career-focused learning modules.
"We are so proud of the new website," Graham said in a statement. "It offers rich content for association professionals in order to help them explore as well move ahead in their career. For people who are considering entering the industry, it provides a look at the variety of career options available and the vibrant culture and community in the association management profession."
Graham indicated that Association Career HQ is part of a new future for ASAE, in which the organization will seek to engage new and younger association professionals online through providing more e-learning opportunities and useful digital content.
ASAE is moving towards an organizational membership, meaning that when an organization buys a membership, the professionals with the title of "director" and above will become full members of ASAE, while all other staff members will be electronic members of ASAE.
"Those electronic members are probably going to come from a younger cohort," Graham told Successful Meetings. "One of the intensions is to attract a younger demographic to ASAE. They may not become members, but they may very well engage with us."
