AIBTM to Showcase Cutting-Edge Meetings Technology

The future probably won't bring flying cars, hoverboards or lifelike humanoid robots. It will, however, bring some pretty cool solutions for meetings and events, according to Reed Travel Exhibitions (RTE), which announced this week that it will be introducing a new specialty area called the "Future Events Experience" at the 2012 Americas Meetings & Events Exhibition (AIBTM).

Modeled after a similar area that was launched last year at the Global Meetings & Events Exhibition (EIBTM) in Barcelona, the Future Events Experience will feature hands-on, interactive demonstrations that allow meeting planners to play, touch, feel and experience cutting-edge meeting technologies.

Key elements of the Future Events Experience will include:

Chance2Speak: The Chance2Speak portion of the Future Events Experience will allow selected exhibitors to give a 10- to 15-minute demonstration or presentation of their choice.

"Ask the Experts Panel": All day long, technology experts will discuss topics, issues and answer any and all relevant questions asked by the audience. These education sessions will be streamed on social media platforms and AIBTM's website.

ePosters: Exhibitors will be able to give their brand or new technology extra exposure by uploading brochures to interactive screens located throughout the Future Events Experience. Attendees will be able to view promotional materials through QR codes or accessible download links.

Chance2Meet: Chance2Meet will be a networking area at the Future Event Experience where exhibitors can demonstrate their products or services face to face with attendees who are interested in technology.

"After such a successful launch at EIBTM, we are pleased to be introducing this new feature to this year's AIBTM program," said Craig Moyes, portfolio director of RTE's IBTM Global Events Portfolio. "This experimental opportunity allows attendees to get inside innovative technology and take one-on-one guided tours in order to gain a better understanding of how to use the tools of the future of meeting planning."

AIBTM 2012 is taking place June 19-21 in Baltimore. For more information, visit
