Meeting professionals who attend this year’s Americas Incentive, Business Travel & Meetings Exhibition (AIBTM) will be able to track their professional education with the help of online certification tracking company RecertTrack — the event’s “official education tracking service” — organizer Reed Travel Exhibitions (RTE) announced yesterday.
RecertTrack’s recertification and e-certification tracking tool allows meeting professionals to record their continuing education courses and credits online as a way of tracking their progress toward recertification. The subscription-based system sends alerts when users need to recertify and also notifies subscribers of relevant education opportunities in their industry.
Currently, RecertTrack tracks 27 industry certifications, including the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP), Certified Association Executive (CAE) and the Destination Management Certified Professional (DMCP) certifications, among others.
“Career advancement for certified professionals in the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions industry is highly dependent on education, and keeping track of continuing education unit documentation is vital, ” AIBTM Exhibition Director Michael Lyons said in a statement. “The industry has been in need of automated re-certification tracking for a long time, and AIBTM is pleased to join with RecertTrack to offer [it].”
AIBTM attendees who subscribe to RecertTrack’s online portal will be asked to enter a group code when they’re creating their profile, which will be supplied when they sign up for the event. Attendees will automatically be given a special subscription rate.
AIBTM 2014 takes place June 10-12 in Orlando. For more information, or to register, visit www.aibtm.com.
