Following its successful launch at IMEX in Frankfurt in May, IMEXLive will make its IMEX America debut next week at the third edition of the meetings industry trade show, the IMEX Group announced yesterday.
Described as a “window into the show,” IMEXLive offers a remote connection to the event for those unable to attend it. A free online service, it will showcase a smattering of content from the exhibition, which is taking place Oct. 14-17 in Las Vegas. For instance, visitors will be able to access Twitter feeds and YouTube videos, video interviews with speakers and industry leaders, daily news headlines produced by CNTV and a live webcam broadcast from the show floor — all available via a pop-up window on the IMEX America homepage or at www.imexamerica.com/imexlive.
“There is no doubt this is a great addition to the show,” IMEX Group CEO Carina Bauer said in a statement. “However, we remain clear that the function of IMEXLive is to provide a selective glimpse of parts of the show, rather than trying to make it perform as a hybrid event. The power and importance of doing business face-to-face remains a key value for IMEX, but thanks to IMEXLive we can make great use of social media and the global reach of the Internet to provide a really convenient, added-value service. It will be very useful for those already at the show, and especially so for those who can’t be there for any reason.”
IMEXLive is sponsored by BOB.tv, an online platform that aggregates and delivers video content specifically for the events industry.
“BOB.tv is pleased to support IMEXLive, which will present some of best content in our industry all in one online destination,” said Tony Lorenz, co-founder and CEO of BOB.tv. “Our partnership with IMEX leverages our respective strengths; IMEX has extraordinary content suited for this global audience, and BOB.tv is well positioned to support a broader distribution to that audience. Together with IMEX through this industry event, and with our founding partners at BOB.tv, we are all working hard every day to move our industry forward at an important time.”
