IMEX America Launches IMEXLive, Offers Content to Non-Attendees

Following its successful launch at IMEX in Frankfurt in May, IMEXLive will make its IMEX America debut next week at the third edition of the meetings industry trade show, the IMEX Group announced yesterday.

Described as a “window into the show,” IMEXLive offers a remote connection to the event for those unable to attend it. A free online service, it will showcase a smattering of content from the exhibition, which is taking place Oct. 14-17 in Las Vegas. For instance, visitors will be able to access Twitter feeds and YouTube videos, video interviews with speakers and industry leaders, daily news headlines produced by CNTV and a live webcam broadcast from the show floor — all available via a pop-up window on the IMEX America homepage or at www.imexamerica.com/imexlive.

“There is no doubt this is a great addition to the show,” IMEX Group CEO Carina Bauer said in a statement. “However, we remain clear that the function of IMEXLive is to provide a selective glimpse of parts of the show, rather than trying to make it perform as a hybrid event. It will be very useful for those already at the show, and especially so for those who can’t be there for any reason.”
