Northstar Meetings Group is proud to present the winners of our inaugural Stella Awards, which recognize organizations worldwide that deliver the greatest possible service to meetings and events professionals. The awards celebrate critical aspects of the event experience across 18 different categories among six regions, including food and beverage, professionalism of staff, technology innovations, green initiatives and more.
We will feature a weekly showcase of 2017 Stella Award winners from each category. This week we showcase the Best Décor/Design. Below is just a sampling of the Best Décor/Design winners that stood out to the expert panel of judges overseen by the editors of Northstar Meetings Group's leading brands, Meetings & Conventions and Successful Meetings. Finalists in each category were determined by industry professionals during an open voting period; you can view all winners and finalists here.

As we congratulate and celebrate our 2017 winners, nominations have opened for the 2018 Stella Awards. We invite you to nominate deserving industry suppliers to be considered for next year's honors. Stay tuned for open voting in the coming months.

Nothing ups the wow factor more than a resort's striking design elements, elevating a meetings property from ordinary to extraordinary. Stunning guest rooms, public areas, meeting spaces and dining outlets capture the spirit of the destination and offer unique configurations as well as highly personalized guest experiences. Created with some of the world's most celebrated architects and interior designers at the helm, these Stella Award-winning hotels boast modern beachside hideaways, chic urban retreats and spa-like sanctuaries that offer an immersive aesthetic experience like no other.
Conrad New York

Best Décor/Design (Northeast)
Conrad New York in Lower Manhattan provides unparalleled luxury décor accommodations with its all-suite room configurations and art initiative. The spacious guest rooms boast views of the New York City harbor, and the atrium lobby is home to abstract sculptures that hang from the ceiling accompanied by a 13-story Sol LeWitt painting. More than 2,000 works of art welcome guests throughout the hotel's public spaces.
W Fort Lauderdale

Best Décor/Design (Southeast)
W Fort Lauderdale captures the breeze and beauty of Fort Lauderdale Beach with its iconic sail design and subtle homages to the sand and sea throughout. The 517-room property was constructed to resemble the expansive sails of a sailboat coming about with a waved silhouette. Every nautical-themed room has views of either the Atlantic Ocean or the Instracoastal waterway, outfitted with floor-to-ceiling windows and balconies to take in the view. W Fort Lauderdale is the only W in the world where guests can view swimmers - without getting wet - thanks to portholes on the bottom of the pool that are windows into the newly restyled fourth-floor Living Room and lobby below.
nhow Berlin

Best Décor/Design (International and U.S. Territories)
Located on the bank of the Spree River and at the epicenter of Berlin's fashion and artistic scene, the nhow Berlin is Europe's first music-themed hotel. A work of art in its own right, this 304-room property - designed by New York-based interior architect Karim Rashid - offers modern architecture and design in Germany's capital city. Seven different vibrantly styled meeting rooms are available to host up to 750 participants. Other hotel features include two recording studios, a spa, an on-site restaurant and bar, and even guitar and keyboard room service.
