Sheraton, Yahoo! Offer Free Online Services

White Plains, N.Y. -- Guests at Sheraton hotels in San Diego and Boston can access the Internet for free through computers located in the lobbies, beginning today.

The offering is the result of a partnership between Sheraton parent Starwood Hotels and Sunnyvale, Calif.-based Yahoo!, the big online search directory which offers users a wide variety of web-based applications.

The free service automatically connects to a Sheraton-Yahoo! co-branded website, which contains information about local attractions, restaurants, weather, and driving conditions.

Guests can also obtain a 30-day free trial of Yahoo! services, including music, a financial tracker, and a premium mail application, and they can print from the computers located in the lobbies.

The service is available from guest rooms, but guests must use their own computers and pay for full Internet access, according to a Starwood spokeswoman.

A pilot program, Yahoo Link @ Sheraton is also available in guest rooms at the Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers and the Sheraton Stamford, in Connecticut.
