Krisam Group Announces Increase in Group Bookings

Last year was a good year for group business, according to hotel and resort membership company Krisam Group, which announced this month that it generated more than $76.5 million in group bookings revenue for its member properties in 2010, representing a 47 percent increase over the previous year.

"After two difficult years for the meetings industry, it's wonderful to report really good news for a change," said Krisam President Jim Schultenover. "An increase of nearly 50 percent indicates a solid revival in meetings and incentives, and speaks to the quality and strength of the Krisam portfolio and professional staff."

According to Krisam — which said it observed several trends during the past year, including an uptick in resort bookings, continued strength in short-term business, rising demand and increased CEO buy-in — its highest-performing member properties included: The Venetian | Palazzo in Las Vegas; Gaylord National Hotel & Convention Center in Washington, D.C.; Atlantis in the Bahamas; Fontainebleau in Miami Beach; the Peabody in Orlando; and Hotel del Coronado in San Diego.
