JW Marriott Introduces On-Demand Spa Concept for Time-Starved Guests


Planners interested in spa meetings will soon have a fresh option for pampering busy attendees, according to JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts, which today announced the launch of a new spa concept: Spa by JW.

According to JW Marriott, Spa by JW was created to "demystify and re-imagine" the spa experience by giving spa-goers an "intuitive" spa experience. Guests will enter the spa through an open lounge space and retail area. There, at the "Curator's Desk," they can book from treatments in one of four themed areas: Calm, Indulge, Invigorate and Renew.

In particular, the new spa concept caters to guests who lack free time. In addition to full-service, bookable spa services, it therefore will offer on-demand services that start at a 12-minute entry point and are bookable without an appointment, as well as express spa suites designed around a state-of-the-art massage chairs with embedded scent infusers, noise canceling technology and built-in cellphone charging stations.

"Our guests are incredibly passionate about well-being but they don't always have the time to invest in cultivating it. They are looking for an experience that delivers true impact and results that are tailored to their state of mind," Mitzi Gaskins, vice president and global brand manager for JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts, said in a statement. "Spa by JW offers an environment where you can choose exactly what you want, when you want, without any of the intimidation or hassle."

The first Spa by JW will open in September at the new JW Marriott Houston Downtown, followed by the JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar in December. An additional 20 Spa by JWs are in the pipeline after that.
