Hilton Launches 'TED'-Like Video Series for Meeting Planners

Hilton HED Talks

Meeting planners spend their careers inspiring attendees with their events. Occasionally, however, they want to be inspired in return, which is why Hilton Worldwide has launched a new video series featuring thought leadership especially for meeting professionals, it announced last week.

Modeled after the popular "TED Talks" series of online video speeches, Hilton's new Hilton Elevated Discussions (HED Talks) series includes video presentations from meeting industry professionals and travel industry influences, organized into four categories: Building Connections, Driving Results, Creating Experiences and Doing It All Responsibly.

Featured speakers include Roger Dow, president and CEO of the U.S. Travel Association; Bernard Quancard, president and CEO of the Strategic Account Management Association (SAMA); Deborah Sexton, president and CEO of the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA); Bobby Heard, ‎associate executive director at the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP); and Marie Hunter, senior director, meetings, conferences and events for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

"Hilton takes pride in representing the most connected meeting, travel and business experiences, but it's understanding what's important to our customers and providing them with solutions, tools, insights and information that makes the difference," Mark Komine, Hilton's senior vice president and head of sales for the Americas, said in a statement. "The HED Talks videos create an opportunity for planners and thought leaders to share peer-to-peer best practices, which isn't being done by others in the industry. It's about human connection and helping move our customers' world closer to those connections -- H2H -- human-to-human."
