Camelback Inn Starts $45-Million Renovation

Scottsdale, AZ -- The Camelback Inn, a mainstay resort for high-end incentive groups, today began a $45-million renovation, part of which includes a new 20,000-square-foot ballroom.

The 10-month project involves razing and reconstructing the main building to re-orient it to the view of Camelback Mountain. Soaring ceilings and extensive use of glass throughout will further the dramatic effect. A tree-lined passageway incorporating water and fire elements will lead to a hacienda-style grand lobby, and a colorful lobby bar will appeal to groups for casual meetings.

The new ballroom will divide into 14 sections and will accommodate meetings of 20 to 2,000 participants. An additional 5,000 square feet of foyer space, with two registration desks, will be suitable for large receptions or registrations that incorporate exhibits.

Two new restaurants are also planned, featuring outdoor seating amid gardens and fireplaces, and oriented to showcase sunset views.

Renovation to Camelback's 453, casita-style guest rooms includes replacing beds, carpets, and televisions; and refurbishing the bathrooms.

The property, which recently received its 31st consecutive AAA Five Diamond Award, offers 36 holes of championship golf, six tennis courts, three swimming pools, and seven restaurants and lounges.

Guests can track the renovation's progress and view plans at a dedicated website, www.thelegendgrows.com.
