For the quarter ending June 30, 2011, the Société du Palais des congrès de Montréal has confirmed it has secured three new international conventions and 11 national conventions, an increase of 16 percent over the same quarter last year. These 14 major events represent economic spinoffs for Montréal estimated at over $96 million. Secured with the help of Tourisme Montréal, the events will result in more than 45,000 room nights being booked in hotels across the city.
“The impressive results we posted in terms of both conventions and exhibitions clearly demonstrate that our development and promotional efforts over the past year are paying off,” explains Marc Tremblay, president and chief executive officer of the Société du Palais des congrès de Montréal.
