In order to promote one of its member properties, Hawaii's Grand Wailea Resort Hotel & Spa, Associated Luxury Hotels International (ALHI) has announced that it will give away a 1-carat diamond named for the property at ASAE's Springtime show in Washington, D.C., on April 16, 2009.
"The diamond is dazzling, as is its namesake resort," Associated Luxury Hotels President and CEO David Gabri said in a statement. "We're giving away this exquisite gem as a nice way to promote the exceptional Four-Diamond Grand Wailea Resort, as well as all 120 Four- and Five-Diamond resorts and hotels that make up ALHI's impressive luxury portfolio."
In addition to the "Grand Wailea Resort Hotel & Spa Diamond," ALHI will give away two additional promotional diamonds this year at meetings industry events. First, at MPI-WEC in July in Salt Lake City, it will give away the "Resort at Squaw Creek Diamond" in recognition of Resort at Squaw Creek in Lake Tahoe, Calif. Then, at IncentiveWorks in Toronto in August, it will give away the "Chateau Elan Winery & Resort Diamond" in homage to Chateau Elan Winery & Resort in Atlanta.
Last year, as part of its "2008 Diamond Tour," ALHI gave away a total of seven diamonds at industry events, including ASAE's Annual Meeting & Exposition in August and The Motivation Show in September. The organization began the diamond giveaways in 2005 as a way to showcase its member hotels and resorts to meetings professionals, association executives and incentive specialists.
