Several meetings and event venues through the state of Arizona are receiving new updates and developments, each designed to give planners more choices for hosting their meetings and events in this sunny state. Following are some notable examples of event spaces that have recently undergone upgrades or are currently in the process of getting a facelift.

Venues in the Greater Phoenix Area

Ritz-Carlton Paradise Valley
The Ritz-Carlton Paradise Valley will open its doors this spring.

The 200-room Ritz-Carlton, Paradise Valley, will open its doors this spring. The resort will feature:

  • Spectacular views of Camelback Mountain
  • Modern and sleek interiors
  • A 400-foot pool (North America's longest!)
  • A 14,000-square-foot spa
  • A citrus orchard
  • 20,000 square feet of event space 
Event Space in Scottsdale, Ariz. 
JW Marriott Camelback Inn Resort & Spa

Scottsdale's 453-room JW Marriott Camelback Inn Resort & Spa has added the 15,000-square-foot Paradise Ballroom. The new space includes 20,000 square feet of outdoor pre-party (or cocktail hour) space. For on-site fun, there are:

  • 36 holes of championship golf
  • Six tennis courts
  • A 32,000-square-foot spa
  • Two pools
  • Seven restaurants and lounges
Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North

The Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North has completed a renovation of its 210 casitas, suites and public spaces. Inspired by the natural beauty of the Sonoran Desert, the property has redone its accommodations with natural elements and tones. Also updated is:

  •  The lobby
    • With new furnishings 
    • Décor that complement the valley views
  • 100 casitas and suites outfitted with new flat-screen TVs.

Additionally, the resort recently unveiled its Spanish steak house, Talavera.

Talking Stick Resort
Talking Stick Resort reopened in the Scottsdale area in fall 2018.

Another notable venue in the Scottsdale area, Talking Stick Resort, reopened in fall 2018 following a closure due to damage sustained during the summer monsoon season.

New Meetings Updates in Tucson

Tucson Convention Center

Several new developments are underway in Tucson. The biggest news is the Tucson Convention Center will undergo $50 million in improvements. Plans call for the:

  • Remodeling of the ballroom
  • Remodeling of the exhibit halls 
  • Remodeling of the meeting rooms
  • Addition of a conference room
  • Updates to the lighting and sound systems. 
  • Refresh of the on-site Tucson Music Hall
Caliber Hotel


The Caliber Hotel will feature 4,000 square feet of event space


The 170-room Caliber hotel, to be attached to the convention center, has been approved. It will offer 4,000 square feet of meeting space, a coffee shop and bar, and a rooftop pool. 

Dual-Braded Marriott Moxy and Element

Also in Tucson, a dual-branded Marriott, with the 109-room Moxy and 140-room Element, will be housed in a new 16-story tower to be built over the Rialto Theater.

Casino Del Sol

The Casino Del Sol is adding a 151-room hotel later this year. The property will have:

  • A pool with a water slide 
  • A pool bar
  • An arcade
  • A lounge 
  • A fitness center 
  • 9,600 square feet of indoor/outdoor conference space
High Country Conference Center

Up north in Flagstaff, the High Country Conference Center's new 1899 Bar & Grill seats up to 98 people. The facility has 29,700 square feet of flexible venue space.
