Waldorf-Astoria Adds First Ski Property to Portfolio

The Waldorf-Astoria Collection has opened its first ski resort, Dakota Mountain Lodge & Golden Door Spa, in Park City, Utah. The interiors reflect a contemporary take on mountain lodge décor while using traditional materials such as dark finished woods, tile, and stonework. Guestrooms offer gas fireplaces, spacious baths with jetted tubs and/or steam showers, and private patios or balconies. In the six-bedroom presidential suite, guests can take advantage of the private study, massage room, exhibition kitchen, and mountain views through floor-to-ceiling windows. At 16,000 square feet, Golden Door Spa incorporates 15 treatment rooms and a custom-designed fitness center.

The hotel is also home to the first outpost of San Francisco's Spruce restaurant, which has 160 seats with indoor and seasonal outdoor seating, private dining areas, and a lounge. A year-round large outdoor courtyard, meanwhile, is outfitted with fire pits, a heated pool, and whirlpool spas.
