Stowe Mountain Lodge in Stowe, Vt., has completed a new phase of renovations, encompassing its guest rooms and meeting space, it announced this week.
Debuting this month, the renovations include 173 new guest rooms that opened on Dec. 10, more than doubling the property's lodging capacity and bringing its total room count to 312. Because the new rooms add more room types to the ski-in/ski-out mountain lodge, the resort says they'll allow for greater rate flexibility for large groups.
This month also marks the introduction of Stowe Mountain Lodge's newest meeting venue, the Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center, which will open on New Year's Eve with a grand-opening benefit concert by James Taylor. Featuring 420 seats, the new space is designed to support lectures, presentations, multimedia displays and theatrical performances.
"Stowe Mountain Lodge is New England;s preeminent ski-in/ski-out mountain lodge located at the base of Stowe Mountain Resort — a destination for all four seasons," reads a statement from the lodge. "As the centerpiece of the resort, this 2-year-old luxury lodge has already made its footprint on the meetings scene. Doubling the current room capacity and creating a performing arts center second to none only adds to the appeal of hosting meetings and events at Stowe Mountain Lodge year round."
