Upgraded Wi-Fi to Power Events at Lucas Oil Stadium, Indiana Convention Center

Just in time for the Super Bowl, which took place there on Feb. 5, convention technology supplier Smart City Networks completed the installation of upgrades to the Wi-Fi network at Lucas Oil Stadium and the Indiana Convention Center in downtown Indianapolis, it announced this month.

The upgraded network, which will be managed and maintained by Smart City, will allow for "tens of thousands" of concurrent connections thanks to the addition of 700 new access points at the stadium and convention center, bringing the facility's total to 1,100 access points from approximately 400 before the upgrade.

"We are very proud to now be offering such an extensive Wi-Fi system at the Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium," said Indiana Convention Center Executive Director Barney Levengood. "While the world [was] focused on Indianapolis and Lucas Oil Stadium for the big game, we took this opportunity to implement upgrades that will benefit our event and convention attendees well into the future."
