The Top 10 Meeting Destinations in the United States

Cvent has released its 2013 rankings of the top 50 meeting destinations in the United States. The renowned provider of cloud-based meeting enterprise solutions considered unique RFP share, total room nights, awarded RFPs, awarded room nights, and venue share in its analysis:

Unique RFP Share: The percentage of unique RFPs for that particular city divided by the total unique RFPs received across all cities.

Total Room Nights Share: The percentage of total room nights for that particular city divided by the total room nights across all cities.

Awarded RFP Share: The percentage of awarded RFPs for that particular city divided by the total awarded RFPs across all cities.

Awarded Room Nights Share: The percentage of awarded room nights in that particular city divided by the total awarded room nights across all cities.

Venue Share: The percentage of the number of venues with more than 2000 sq ft of meeting space within that particular city divided by the total venues with more than 2000 sq ft of meeting space across all cities.

1. Orlando
Orlando held onto the top spot, and no wonder! The city had over 56 million visitors in 2012.

2. Chicago
With automated passport control coming to the city's O'Hare airport, expect to see even more meetings in 2014.

3. Las Vegas
Sin City welcomed nearly 40 million visitors in 2012, and has some exciting hotel and infrastructure developments in progress.

4. Atlanta
Atlanta recently hosted ASAE's annual meeting, putting it front and center in many planners' minds.

5. San Diego
The host city of this year's GBTA conference is enjoying its moment in the spotlight.

6. New York
