An Escape From the City

The Ritz-Carlton New York Westchester offers groups something different, but delightful

Westchester Ritz-Carlton

A half-hour train ride north from New York City, the city of White Plains offers corporate groups a breath of fresh air in the heart of the Hudson River Valley, and a break from the city's bustle. But it also boasts top-notch meeting accommodations, most notably The Ritz-Carlton New York, Westchester. The 146-room property, which includes 38 executive suites, combines the latest in modern amenities with classic luxury.

It boasts 10,000 square feet of meeting space spread across 12 meeting spaces. The most prominent is the 6,014-square-foot Ritz-Carlton Ballroom, with silk wall coverings and floor-to-ceiling windows in the foyer, ensuring events are awash in natural light. Other spaces include the 2,357-square-foot Gallery and 1,510-square-foot Westchester Suite.

All events held in these spaces are serviced by the property's pro event managers, who offer guidance on everything from linens and lighting, to entertainment and security. The event managers can arrange for groups to take part in socially responsible Impact Experiences to add CSR elements to their gatherings here -- from assembling school supplies into backpacks to donate to students in need to creating emergency preparedness kits to ship to disaster relief facilities. Groups can take advantage of the property's Genius Break -- a healthier take on the traditional coffee break, with locally made vegetable yogurt, homemade granola, matcha tea, and hummus.

Those looking for more substantial meals can drop by The Lounge, adjacent to the lobby, where a cozy fireplace keeps guests warm and an extensive menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner (as well as an eye-popping brunch buffet on the weekends) keeps them full. Afternoon Tea is also occasionally available.

For a dining experience that visitors won't soon forget, consider BLT Steak White Plains, located on property. It offers all the essentials of a classic steakhouse with a number of elements all its own - from the signature warm popovers that you will have to be careful not to fill up on to outstanding carrot cake complete with ginger ice cream. The seafood options range from refreshing tuna tartare and rich lobster bisque to a delightful citrus-ginger salmon. But the steak cuts are the main feature here, including several 28-day dry-age cuts such as filet mignon, rib eye, and strip steaks. It's an ideal option for an important business dinner or celebratory gathering meant to impress.

To work off all that great food, visitors can drop by The Ritz-Carlton New York, Westchester's top-notch fitness center, which includes an indoor rooftop pool. The 10,000-square-foot spa is one of the most luxurious in the region.

Nearby, guests can visit the wide range of attractions, from cultural venues (with their own meeting spaces) like the White Plains Performing Arts Center or Hudson River Museum, not to mention leisure options from shopping to the Hudson Hills Golf Course. Or visitors can simply stroll along the Hudson River, taking in the natural surroundings and feeling a world away from the madness of New York City.
