The Desert Springs JW Marriott Resort & Spa recently began a $25 million renovation on their lobby, dining areas, and spa. The project will be done in stages and is expected to be completed by May of next year. The 884-room resort will now feature a new porte-cochere with dramatic water features and reflection pools of Italian mosaic glass tile, as well as an impressive fire cauldron. The dock area for the popular Venetian-inspired waterways, which transport guests around the property and on tours of the Desert Springs' fairway and gardens, will triple in size, allowing for two boats to dock at once. The spa will include suites with private showers, fireplaces, and outdoor whirlpools. A co-ed relaxation lounge, deluxe couple's suite, and VIP spa suite will also be added. The Spa's dressing area will include a dry sauna, wet steam room, and aromatic hamman steam chamber. The Spa Bistro will open and offer healthy, delicious food, while a retail shop and seperate salons for hair, manicure, and pedicure will also be added.
