Tanzania's Ruaha National Park in the Southern Circuit will be combined with Usangu Game Reserve, making it the largest National Park in Africa with the addition of 15,000 square kilometers. Twenty-five percent of the land in Tanzania is set aside for protected areas with 14 National Parks, and 30 game reserves. Ruahais home to over 10,000 elephants, 450 bird species, prides of 20 plus lions, and the Great Ruaha River.
