St. Louis Convention Center Announces Environmental Upgrades

The America's Center, St. Louis' downtown convention center complex, has recently rolled out a series of small but significant improvements that it says will make the facility more environmentally friendly.

Announced at the convention center early this month at an annual meeting held for St. Louis' hospitality industry—at which the city recognizes its best hospitality service providers and discusses new methods with which to promote local tourism—the improvements already completed include the installation of new carpeting, which contains 40 percent recycled materials; the installation of low-energy fixtures in the convention center lobby; and the implementation of reuse and recycling efforts within the convention center complex.
