Site Chooses Dominican Republic as Executive Summit Host

Site — formerly the Society of Incentive Travel Executives — has chosen to locate its 2014 Site Executive Summit in Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, it announced yesterday.

According to Site, the annual event is “an opportunity to educate a destination about the motivational experiences market and the importance of the performance improvement industry to business results.” The program — which features speakers from both Site’s board of directors and from the local Site chapter — is designed to help destinations develop their tourism offerings by educating local professionals about the incentives and motivational events market. Likewise, it helps incentive and motivational event planners become better acquainted with the offerings of an emerging destination.

“As Site President for 2014, I am pleased that we are holding the Site Executive Summit in the Dominican Republic, a paradise for incentive travel,” Site President Paul Miller, managing director of Spectra DMC, said in a statement. “This event will bring a new focus to the region and will serve as a reminder to the industry that the Dominican Republic, and Punta Cana in particular, is determined to play a role. Hosting this event is an important contribution and commitment to the ongoing development of our industry.”

Added Site Chief Staff Officer Kevin Hinton, “The Site Executive Summit will go a long way toward ensuring that the Dominican Republic remains in high demand amongst incentive travel planners. For leaders within the motivational and incentive travel industry, it is critically important to gain greater insights into how the Dominican government and the local travel industry have cooperated to create this success story — and at the Site Executive Summit, those relationships will be at the forefront of the experience. The Summit will also serve to further support the effort and impact of the Site Florida & Caribbean Chapter, which is expanding in the region.”

The 2014 Site Executive Summit will take place Jan. 31-Feb. 1, and will be followed by optional post-tours of the Dominican Republic. For more information, visit
